Home for Christmas!

After a long, long day of travelling on Saturday, we made it to California to start our Christmas vacation! My mom picked us up from the airport and then we made our way to my dad's for a little Holiday party with some friends. We finally went to bed nearly 24 hours after we had woken up to start our day! Sunday was restful with a service at CPC and hanging out with Barlow (we should've taken a picture). We played some Wii and I played Guitar Hero for the first time - I know, I am such the Rock Star! For dinner we went to Pete's Brass Rail and Car Wash, a Danville favorite where I got my usual #1 and all the boys got "The Todd". So good! The night capped off with a hot tub and then sleep.
Today, Christmas Eve we are going to the Nutcracker in San Francisco and then Christmas Eve Candlelight service.

We are so excited to be home and with family and away from the hoopla that is DC!

Sad Day for Us Huskies

The game was not pretty but for the first 3 quarters we looked pretty good. Definitely good enough to beat Arizona but again, we could not finish the game. The turnovers were costly but when it came down to it, our offense scored 41 points. Yes, some of the turnovers gave Arizona great field possession and the end of the game interception dashed all of our hopes, but overall Locker and the boys on O looked pretty good for most of the game. Our D was soft at times and just awful at others, getting beat on big passing plays more than a couple times. Our run D was pretty good the first half, but we had many chances to stop Arizona drives on 3rd downs in the 2nd half and just did not gut it out. I still have hope for the Huskies this season, and definitely for the future but today was a disappointing loss that will put a damper on an already rainy weekend in DC.

Still proud to be Huskies!

Solar Decathlon at the National Mall

Now that it's starting to cool off we started a new East Coast Button Saturday routine: running the mall. We probably ran about half a mile before we got too tired to continue. Next week we'll try to make it a mile. After our jog we decided to check out the Solar Decathlon, a competition that positions teams of engineering students from various universities against each other as they create (or try to at least) the best solar home. We had a great time and we hope you enjoy the pictures on our Picasa account. Here's the link: http://picasaweb.google.com/Joseph.Button/SolarDecathalonOnTheNationalMall?authkey=Rb9euhbdhkQ

October BBQ

On the east coast, the common place back yard BBQ is much better held in the autumn rather than in the summer. Simply put, it's too hot to BBQ in the summer. There is no need to fire up the grill during the summer months because it's too humid to light the fire and too hot to survive the process. That said, it's fall and we BBQed today. Although it was still 90 degrees.

It all started out after church. We went to the local market. It's called Eastern Market. Go figure. There we bought a delicious assortment of bell peppers, zucchini, apples, green beans, artichokes and crab lemon herb raviolis. We used the steak from Safeway to add to the kabobs, but aside from that our meal was completley organic. (Not that I know what that means, but its definitely trendy to say no matter what coast you're on.)

The kabobs were delicious-
